Introducing the Logic Plus Combi

The efficient and dependable Logic Plus Combi model is a combination (combi) boiler, which means it can provide your home with central heating as well as instant access to hot water for your taps and showerheads.

It comes equipped with an easy-to-use digital display, runs quietly and is compact enough to comfortably fit inside a boiler cupboard. We’re very proud of this award-winning model and all of its useful features, which you can learn more about below.

Operation Modes

If you’re trying to get to grips with the different modes of your Ideal Logic Plus combi boiler, we’ve got all the answers you need. We’ve set out the three main operation modes of your boiler below to help keep you on the right track.

Summer Conditions

When the sun is shining outside, rotate the Mode knob (you can find it on the far right of the panel), turning it to the icon that has an image of a tap (summer).

Next, turn the central heating demand on the external controls to OFF.

The domestic hot water preheat will work when you set the ‘PREHEAT’ button to display “HOT WATER ON”.

Winter Conditions

Set the Mode knob to the icon showing a tap and a radiator (winter). Use this mode as the cold weather draws in, allowing the boiler to heat up your radiators to your preferred temperature.

You can switch on the domestic hot water preheat by setting the ‘PREHEAT’ button to “HOT WATER ON”.

Boiler Off

You can set your boiler to this mode by turning the Mode knob to ‘BOILER OFF’. Don’t forget that your Logic Plus combi needs to stay connected to the mains power supply in order for the Frost Protection to keep working.

Boiler Frost Protection

The Logic Plus Combi comes equipped with frost protection that will safeguard all year round, as it will work whenever the boiler is switched on at the power. In case the temperature of water in the boiler ever falls as low as 5ºC, this function will power on the boiler to make sure it doesn’t freeze.

Weather Compensation

With the addition of a Weather Compensation option, you can use the central heating temperature knob (with the image of a radiator) to control room temperature. You can increase it by turning the knob clockwise and lower it by turning it anti-clockwise.

Once you’re happy with the temperature, you can leave the knob in that position and the intelligent system will automatically achieve the desired room temperature — no matter what the weather conditions are like outside.

System Water Pressure

The system pressure gauge (located on the far left of your boiler’s display) shows you the level of your central heating system’s pressure.

If you find that the pressure has dropped below 1-2 bar for a prolonged period of time and continues to fall, this could mean there’s a water leak. In this case you should re-pressurise the system, as shown in the full user guide.

If you’re unsure about how to do this or the gauge shows that the pressure is continuing to drop, get in touch with a Gas Safe Registered engineer to safely investigate the issue.

Condensate Drain

Your Ideal Logic Plus combi is a condensing boiler, which means it operates efficiently and is optimised to operate in an environmentally friendly way. It makes sure that the water vapour your boiler creates isn’t wasted, but is actually used as another source of heat.

This process causes condensation, creating something called boiler condensate, which is disposed of through a condensate drain.

Your boiler is fitted with a condensate trap system designed to prevent condensate from freezing. If you suspect that the condensate pipe has frozen, take a look at the full user guide for instructions on which steps to take.
