Having left school, I took up an Electrical apprenticeship, in 1970 finished my qualifications and started my life as an electrician working for a well-known brewery. Then I went to work for a mechanical and heating company. Since then I have had a variety of jobs working with in a commercial and domestic industry. I Joined Ideal boilers in 1996 as an engineer, I now work within training and enjoy my time passing the knowledge that I have obtained during my life as a heating engineer, onto new and existing engineers.
I began in the H & V trade in 1977, where I trained on Commercial heating systems and their installation. After my apprenticeship, I continued my development and gained several top-grade City & Guilds qualifications. After many years of contracting, in 2004 I moved to a role as an Ideal diagnostic & service Engineer, seconded to Ideal Commercial and Keston boilers. An appetite to pass on knowledge to others, led me to move into my current training role in 2014. Being 'Mobile' I travel the UK to deliver training where ever it is needed
Having worked for manufacturers and service providers over the years I have a solid and broad overview of the heating industry. I really enjoy working with new technologies and renewables so very interested in how the future will unfold.
I have been working in the gas industry since I left school and I have been with Ideal since 2004. I’ve been part of the training department for the last 8 years and during that time I have met some fantastic people. It’s great to be able to advise and pass on information which can help people in their day to day jobs. My strengths are with Ideals domestic boiler range & renewable products.
I find some boilers and renewable products have their own little quirks, therefore it can be a massive benefit to get trained regularly. I try to break things down as simple as possible to make them more understandable. My strengths are electrics and controls, domestic boiler range and solar thermal systems.
I started my apprenticeship in plumbing and heating in 1975, since then I’ve had a very varied career including pipefitting, commercial boiler and catering repair. I’ve worked with Ideal for the past 13 years and enjoy passing on the experiences I’ve gained over the past 39 years. My strengths are in the commercial environment.
