Hull Digital Awards 2018

On September 20th Ideal Heating will be at the Bonus Arena for the 2018 Hull Digital Awards as sponsors for the ‘Best Digital Marketing Communication’ category and as nominees for ‘Best Mobile App’ and ‘Best Digital Innovation’ for the Ideal Touch Connect app.  The awards reflect the wide scope of skills being employed in the region, whether that be technological development or digital delivery. The Digital awards will allow companies to show off their work as well as highlight the important embryonic work being carried out by imaginative companies and individuals.

We are pleased to be sponsoring the category of ‘Best Digital Marketing Communication’ not only because we support local companies but also because we consider marketing to be at the forefront of all business activities. Hull is helping to secure the UK's position as the digital capital of Europe. The city and wider East Riding are together seen as a hotspot for digital activity, with start-ups taking root here in increasing numbers and established businesses enjoying unprecedented growth. As described by the Digital awards website, the category is ‘looking for a one-off marketing or promotional campaign, or continuous excellent use of digital tools such as social media, to promote a business, organisation or event.’ Judges in this category will be keen to see eye catching graphics and diverse videos that add value to content.

We’re also very proud to be up for nomination in both the ‘Best Mobile App’ and ‘Best Digital Innovation’ category for our Ideal Touch connect app in conjunction with Hull software company, Sauce. The app allows owners of an Ideal Boiler to set advanced schedules, adjust temperatures and even detect faults to aid with a quicker repair. For the ‘Best Mobile App’ category, Judges will be looking for a stand-out App, showing innovation, imagination and flair. For the ‘Best Digital Innovation’ category judges will be looking for a unique design or innovation which has helped a company or organisation take a step forward in their digital journey.

The software company, Sauce, who helped design the Touch Connect have described their relationship with Ideal and how the collaboration came to be. ‘After analysis of several software development consultancies throughout the UK, Ideal Boilers commissioned Sauce in August 2016 to develop a mobile application suite, cloud-based middleware and customer support portal for their new Smart Heating system. Working closely with the project team at Ideal, Sauce have balanced the complexity inherent in large-scale IoT services with the ease-of-use required from a product looking for mass-market adoption.
